Celia Haig-Brown
Celia Haig-Brown is a Professor of Education at York University in Toronto, Canada. She was involved in rodeo production for 12 years in the interior of British Columbia. She is directing her fourth film as part of this research project. Previous films include Cowboys, Indians and Education and Listen to the Land with the Naskapi Nation in northern Quebec. Her research has been based primarily on relationships with Indigenous people and their communities.
Susan Nance
Susan Nance, Professor of US History and affiliated faculty with the Campbell Centre for the Study of Animal Welfare at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, brings her expertise in rodeo and animal history and archival investigation to the project. She is an internationally recognized researcher in the history of animals and the business and management history of live entertainment and in this project, is interested in exploring the links between rodeo women and the bucking stock.
Didi Khayatt
Didi Khayatt, Professor Emerita, is an accomplished feminist sociologist who will continue to cast a critical eye on all aspects of the proposed research.
Julia Creet
Professor Julia Creet is a humanities scholar and the producer of a major documentary film now in worldwide distribution (2017). She will contribute her expertise in documentary film as research output and accompanying knowledge mobilization strategies.
Ryan Koelwyn
Dr. Ryan Koelwyn worked as production assistant on the second shoot in Alberta.
Josie Vayro
Dr. Josie Vayro worked as production assistant on the first shoot in British Columbia.
